My icemaker suddenly stop making ice. I still can get water so I know the lines are not frozen. I noticed that the infrared ice control sensor is not turning to green it stays on red all the time. Is it possible the sensor has stopped working?

Are you discussing the change filter light on the dispenser, or the red light on the right side of the freezer door opening ? I don't recall, a green light on the infra red optic sensor circuit. You may need and optics control board kit. Here is a way to test the optical control system for your ice maker. Check and make sure the optic control slide switch is in the ON position and close freezer door and wait 1 minute. Open the freezer door and observe led on panel above the switch, If you have 2 flashes followed by a 1 second delay, the emitter board is faulty or the flapper is blocking the light. Close the freezer door and wait 1 minute. Open the freezer door and hold the flapper down, If you have 2 flashes followed by a 1 second delay, the optic system is at fault and you will need to replace the parts. If the led light comes on and stays on steady the optic controls are working and you'll need to check / test the icemaker. After you do this test, if you get different results or the optics test OK, you will most likely need an icemaker assembly. But, the optic control is the most common problem, in the ice maker circuitry. :)
