The start/ pause push pad will not start the washer. The off push pad also will not function. Everything else on control consul is working and the lights are on. What would be the repair procedure for me to repair myself?

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for MAH5500B models | AppliancePartsPros.com

Here is a service manual. The 5500B is near the end of the manual.

Try running the diagnostics.

Looks like the Start/Pause and Off have a common line.
Check the keypad outputs with a meter (see Page 4-4)

You may want to try the following
Connector Cleaning / Checking
Unplug the unit
Open it up
Remove the ribbon cable from the keypad to the control board at the control board.
Clean the edge connector.
If it is the type where there is not a connector just the insulation is removed, it can be cleaned with a pencil eraser. Do not use an ink eraser as it is too abrasive.
Check the tracks in the ribbon cable for hairline cracks. A magnifying glass helps here.
Would not hurt to clean the connector on the board. Use electronics contact cleaner or isopropyl alcohol and a tooth brush. Be gentle and do not reconnect till all the solvent evaporates.
Reconnect everything and give it a try.

Thank you for your reply. I was able to get the machine running for one wash load only. The start/ pause push pad light is now on but will not start machine. I tried checking the diagnostic codes but cannot get the d reading on the LED. I WAS ABLE TO PULL THE HELP CODES. THEY READ AS FOLLOWS: 19,45,48,46,01. I also did the door lock test MAX EXTRACT DID LOCK THE DOOR EXTRA RINSE WOULD NOT OPEN IT. Motor fuse checked out to be ok. Any suggestions?
Thank you ,
Patrick
