the water dispenser stopped working but the ice maker kept working. i was gone for about a week and when i got back the water dispenser was working but the ice maker had stopped working. they are just trying to confuse me

anyway, got any ideas what's going on? i feel sure they will both stop soon.

thanks, pat

Hi Pat,

Does the ice dispenser on the door work?

How old is the water filter?

Gene.

hi gene,

after i sent the first post both ice maker and water dispenser worked. for about 2 days. now it's back to ice maker working and slowing down on the water dispenser, which means it is about to stop working.

the ice maker on the door does work. i do need to replace the water filter but i can't get the old one off. too tight.

thanks, pat

Hi Pat,

Possible the water tank in the fresh food compartment (on the bottom) is freezing up.

Also, you did not answer on how old is the water filter.

hi gene,

the water filter is over a year or more old. i'm the only one to use this refrigerator. i've changed the filter once, but since then have not been able to get the old filter off.

what do i look for in the bottom to freeze up?

pat

Hi Pat,

The first thing I would do is replace the water filter because it'll never last more than a year. An old water filter causing restriction to water flow. You can buy a special wrench which will help to remove the old filter.

- The part number for the water filter AP2591529

- The part number for the filter wrench is AP2114962
