We have an Asko Dryer - had a 4 prong, but changed it to 3 prong 6 years ago (we military families move a lot). The original 4 prong is lost so we bought a new one. ALL of the cords in the dryer are BROWN. The 3 prong is numbered (1-2-3), but that doesn't help me now. The new cord is colored and I have no idea which goes where. Assistance is GREATLY appreciated. Thank you.

There is a generic answer to this question, but the correct wiring is specific to brands and models, so I suggest you contact the company.

Give them your model number and they should be able to advise you how to do this. It is something you want to get right.

Thanks... I actually called the store that sold us the dryer and spoke w/ a tech rep... green is ground and goes w/ the green and yellow wire. White goes in the middle (there were 3 wires/screws and they were all brown) and red and black go on either side and it didn't matter. Installed on Monday and thankfully it all works.

Great, that is the basic way it works, but since I was not familiar with the brand I am glad you got the info from folks who know.

Thanks for the update.
