i have a Maytag washer LAT2916AAE i notice that when the water loads it seams to be leaking from the base of the tub i was wondering what will fix this problem the washer is in great shape still hate to dump it if i can fix it!!!

When the leak occurs, is it only when the tub is filling with water, or is it during the whole cycle ? It may be as simple as a damaged water flume or hose, or tub leaning too far forward and water is missing the tub. You may want to remove the front panel and observe the location and time of the leak and respond with what you observe, for a more accurate assistance. ** If you remove the front panel, be careful not to reach into the cabinet, there are several electrical and mechanical moving parts and you could get hurt.**

Do you mean the water is leaking from the bottom center of the tub assembly ? And if thats the case, it must also be leaking during the whole cycle , not just when the water is comming into the tub? Or does it leak when the water is coming into the tub only? Please update us so we can have a better diagnosis for you.

Or does it leak when the water is coming into the tub only?
Please update us so we can have a better diagnosis for you. yes the center bottom , it starts to leak at about 1/4 or less full then leaks constantly untill the wash is finished

Sounds like the tub seal is leaking. If it is leaking right where the transmission enters the tub the tub seal is leaking. This page will help Maytag Tub Seal Replacement

(and the sight he attached is pretty concise and accurate) I reccomend you replace both the tub seal and tub bearing kits when doing this repair(as the service sight implies). You may want to consider the roller bearing in the brake package, for more years of service, on occasion(not always) the leaking seal allows water to wash the lubricant out of the bearing and it makes a loud growling noise.(eventually) Part number: AP4372971
