when you start the washer and its starts to fill with water it wont stop. it overflows and leaks on the foor. all other functions are working. its spins, drains, and agitates. and when the rinse starts the same thing, the water wont stop. what determine when the water stops pumping in? is there a level sensor? is it part of the control dial mechanism? dont know where to start. thanks.

if it stops when power is cut, then it is either a clogged hose that runs from the tub to the level sensor. blow it out and if that doesnt work then replace sensor that hose connects to. If water continues running when power is cut, then it is your water valve.
