Need help replacing the spring/string on the dishwasher door. Currently there is a string hanging down at the bottom of the dishwasher. Can anyone tell me what to order to replace this and instructions on how to do it.

What do you mean by a string hangfing down. ONly reason I can see for a "string" is to pull o nend of spring top stretch it enough to allow it to lock in its mount. I doubt its part of the DW per se.

Yep, it links the spring to the door. Poor Design.

Join the club I just ordered what's called a "Link kit" part number AP3775412 for my Kitchen Aid, model number kuds01flss6. It sounds like thats what you need a link kit part number may very. You will need to pull out your dishwasher part way to expose the parts, use one side to guide you as how to fix the other side. If both sides are broken you may be able to figure out how to replace them it's pretty much a basic pulley system.
