My refridgerator and freezer never stop running. Even after turning the thermostat control inside the fridge to off, it still runs, so everything freezes in both. Had been an intermittent problem, but now its all the time. Does this one thermostat control both? Would replacing it solve the problem, or is there something else I should be looking at?

Definatly sounds like the thermostat, and yes it controls both. Get the thermostat out and look for any burn marks on the connectors
