THe heating eliment stays on unless th e unit is unplugged. I replaced the timer thinking that would help. It didn't.. What next?

Most likely the heating element is shorted to ground. Remove the wires from both terminals on the heating element and check for continuity between each of the terminals and ground. If the readings is other than ∞ - replace the heating element.

You can find the complete instructions in the Service Manual.

- The part number for the heating element assembly is AP2107129
