Dear Sir or Madam
I BOUGHT A NEW MOTOR REF NO=AP2046331 (WH20X876) ON THE 7/7/2010 ORDER NUMBER 1235292.
We have fitted the new motor and have found out that the Spin cycle is not working. Please can you advise what we can do to repair this or do we need to send the unit back.
Thanks and Best Regards
Ian JohnstonM

If it only fails to spin, you might have a bad lid switch AP2045986 It should click when you close the lid.

Thank you for that information, The door switch is clicking closed. we have tried another motor and is spining OK. When we install the new motor there is a humming noise from it we are frightened it will burn out.
Best Regards

Your other motor was probably partially shorted and drawing excessive current. Use of an amprobe would have detected that. Rather rare for this though.

You probably have either a bad timer, or something stuck in the tub and not a bad motor which is probably drawing excessive current.
