The detergent dispenser on my Bosch SHU9915UC-11 will not open. Is there a way to check if it is just a latch or does the entire dispenser unit need to be replaced? If unit needs to be replaced, I found instructions but I need to know how to remove the front door first. Thank you.

If the dispenser door or latch are not broken physically, then the whole dispenser has to be replaced. The instructions are attached to the reply. - The dispenser assembly Part number: AP2802340

Gene - one last request if you don't mind. I was doing some reading about this and the article I saw recommended checking the timer, bi-metal switch and the wax motor with a voltmeter first to be sure one of these are not the problem before replacing the detergent dispenser. Makes sense to me. I need a schematic to determine proper resistance. Can you post that for me? If it does turn out that the detergent dispenser needs to be replaced, I feel pretty sure I can handle that thanks to your directions. Whatever the problem turns out to be, this has been a good learning experience for me. Thanks for all your help.

I pulled the door & fascia screws out to replace the dispenser. Was surprised when the side door springs sprung back closed (almost bending my fascia in the process). Replaced the dispenser as you described. But now the door re-install? How do I procede to reinstall the door given the door side mounting springs? Is there a process to follow?

Gene,
Bosch SHU6802UC/U12 Dishwasher, 8? yrs old. Soap dispenser door slides easily both ways, releases easily, but during operation does not open.
I printed the key page from your Troubleshooting Manual and ran the Diagnostic for my model. It returned "0" as in no faults.
It doesn't seem like the dispenser door spring is bad, nor is motion retarded. I'm thinking of just replacing the entire Dispenser Assembly AP3844311 since I don't want to mess with springs, actuators, etc.
I will also get Gasket for Dispenser AP2802339
I am an experienced DIY'er. I've repaired vacuum pumps, compressors, and built a BattleBot.
Will I encounter any problems when I remove the Stainless Steel Inner Door? Like hinges with strong springs that jump out and bite me? Or, should I have a clear path to disconnecting the Dispenser and Gasket, and replacing and reconnecting?
Any guidance you are willing to offer would be super!

It is very possible if you are going to remove the inner door which does not need to be removed. You have to remove the outer door panel only. You can use the instructions attached earlier. Gene.

Unfortunately I never removed the whole door myself and I did not find anything useful in a literature. Gene.
