My wife was using the upper oven to bake. Temp was set to about 400 degrees. All of a sudden the temp of the oven started to go up by itself. The oven locked itself and displayed the error code E2 F3. I turned off the breaker to the oven. When the oven cooled down I turned the breaker back on but the door was still locked. Oven display was normal. After about 3-5 minutes, the oven turned itself on! It went into the preheat mode with upper and lower elements on and the door stayed locked. I turned off the breaker again. When I turned the breaker back on the display panel was dead and the oven door was locked.

I followed another thread and got access to the control panel compartment so that I could manually unlock the door. I looked at the fuse in there and it doesn't look blown. Haven't pulled the oven unit out of the wall to check the back of the oven (fuse, T-stat?).

Thanks for your help.

Sounds like the problem is a bad control board. The thermal fuse can not be checked visually. It has to be checked for continuity, using an ohmmeter.

- The control board Part number: AP3767567
Part number: AP3767567

- The control board thermal fuse Part number: AP3110028

I appreciate your quick reply While I'm at it, would it be prudent to replace the thermostat on the back of the oven, and the fuse and thermostat for the lower oven too? (assuming they have separate fuses and thermostats)

According to the problem you described, I do not see why you have to replace these parts, unless you checked them for continuity and they did not pass the test.

Gene.
