We got this white elephant floor model for cheap when we bought a GE Profile stove in 2002. Didn't install it - existing unit still working great. Now trying to use it.

Plugged in first time. Set clock ok. Unit would microwave and bake ok. However, these buttons didn't work: Start/Pause, Clear/Off, Back, Timer, Options, Reminder. GE tech support says I need a new Smart Card. Bought it, installed it. I'm no tech, but this was easy. Same problems; new card made no difference.

Anyone have any ideas what might be wrong? I could take it to a local appliance repair, but he wants a lot, just to look at it. plus premium prices for parts. I hesitate to throw more money into this pig. The web reviews are horrid.

I'm thinking the circuit board for activating the buttons might be bad.

Which part did you call "smart card"? The smart board - #1655 on the diagram?

Most likely the problem is a bad key PCB assembly - #1615.

- The key PCB assembly Part number: AP3191206
