Have a Maytag Wall Mount Oven. The Cancel, Broil, Bake and Clean buttons on the facia display do not work, but the oven clock does work. I turned off the oven at the breaker for 30 mins or so and it displays code 03.0 when I turn it on.
Any suggestions from the guru's? I think it is either the touchpad control or the control panel (the one with the circuit boards)
Thanks, RMAC :)

Here are your parts Replacement parts for MAYTAG MEW5530DDW Walloven - S/c Ele | AppliancePartsPros.comHere is the tech sheet http://www.servicematters.com/maytag_library/docs/16022507.pdfAnd a manual http://www.servicematters.com/maytag_library/docs/16022506.pdfI could not find the 0.30 error. On some ovens you have to set the cavity size but I coiuld not find any reference to this is in the manuals. You could try the following cleaning procedure but it does not look like there is a common line for all the non-working keys you list. I would try to get into diagnostics. I would check the keypad (control panel) with a meter. If it checks out OK then the control board is the probable cause. Still a bit of a crap shoot but your odds are better. Connector Cleaning / Checking Unplug the unit Open it up Remove the ribbon cable from the keypad to the control board at the control board. Clean the edge connector. If it is the type where there is not a connector just the insulation is removed, it can be cleaned with a pencil eraser. Do not use an ink eraser as it is too abrasive. Check the tracks in the ribbon cable for hairline cracks. A magnifying glass helps here. Would not hurt to clean the connector on the board. Use electronics contact cleaner or isopropyl alcohol and a tooth brush. Be gentle and do not reconnect till all the solvent evaporates. Reconnect everything and give it a try. |

Many thanks for answering. Here is what I ended up doing;
Called Maytag to give them a blast on their appliances. Turned out that the circuit control board was actually under a 5-year warranty, so Maytag sent me another one. That fixed part of the issue as some of the buttons came back but the broil and bake button still did not work.
Cleaned all parts as you suggested, but ended up replacing the touchpad control which fixed my issue with the other 2 buttons.
Now, my oven is back up and running. Many thanks for all your assistance!

Thanks for getting back to us. Others who take a look at your problem will now know what actually fixed the unit.
Also nice to hear that Maytag treated you fairly. |

Sorry I do not know of any companies that fix then resell. I do know there are some out there that will fix old control boards but you send your board in and the fix and return it. |

Well, I have the MEW6530DDB. The touchpad went out last night. We tried turning off the breaker and nothing happened. I called Maytag this morning and they referred to my user guide, where the warrantly is only for 1 year. This oven is barely 3 years old. I have the names of a few repair companies in my area, but that's all i got from Maytag. What a piece of crap.:mad: Originally Posted by: rmac Many thanks for answering. They sent the part to me at no cost. I had the same with a microwave where they told me it was a 1-year warranty, but when they researched it, the magentron had a longer warranty. Just a suggestion, RMAC

Just a suggestion, RMAC Check this out: "Thank you for visiting the Maytag web site. We appreciate hearing from you. I do apologize that your control panel needs replacing. This appliance does not have a 5 year warranty only a 1 year warranty. The best that I am able to offer is a discount on the part if it is ordered thru us. I do need to let you know that since it is an electrical part there is a no return policy so if you decide to accept this offer please be sure that you have the correct part number as it cannot be returned. If you will give me a part number I can let you know the amount of the discount. You are a valued Maytag customer and we apologize for any inconvenience this concern may have caused." Too bad. But this is the last Maytag/Whirlpool appliance I will ever buy.
