This part fell out of my freezer.

Part Details - FRIGIDAIRE Deflector-ice container, part number: AP3210820

It seems so simple, but I can't figure out where it connects to my icemaker.

Any ideas?

thanks in advance,
R

I believe this part would actually mount to back wall of your freezer compartment, to deflect the air from the vented opening onto your ice maker. I cannot be positive because you did not supply a proper model number for a refrigerator.

Joe, thanks for your quick response.

It's model #FRS23LH5DSR.
I'm seeing that vent that blows onto the icemaker, but it seems, judging by the clamps on either end of the deflector piece that it mounts onto a post of some kind on each end.

I don't see any posts in the fridge where it might clamp onto.

You're thinking it mounts directly behind the icemaker somehow?

thanks again,
Ryan

Ryan,
Thanks for the model number, I was able to research your complaint more efficiently.

I was able to determine thatPart number: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/part_details.aspx?part_id=3210820
Part number: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/part_details.aspx?part_id=3210820
, is an accessory, and based on the parts picture and location in the parts diagram I believe this part would attach to the right side rear wall(looking from the front of the bin) of the ice bin.

Having seen similar devices on other brands of products, this device is designed to keep ice cubes from accumulating and overflowing the rear portion of the bin.

I hope this is of some help to you.

Have a good day.

Got it!
Yeah, it just prevents overflow. I think it can be slid to the front or back of the ice tray.

thanks!
