What we have is a Kelvinator fridge that came with the house. It works great, so cold that we can't keep veggies in it. It's our number 2 fridge and it's in the bar area of the basement. It even has a tap hole in the door! Anyway, model CD-7-R, serial 4181432. I need to learn how old the unit is, and if there are any modern retro-type compressor assemblies that will fit that will make the unit more efficient. thanks to all!

Your fridge is at least 20 years old. There is no way you can make it much more efficient by replacing the compressor only and it is not worth it money wise. Use it while it's working and then just dump it.
