Hello Folks.
Newbie here. I need some technical help with my Dryer. The parts department at Appliance Parts Pros recommended asking...
The dryer works fine, clothes don't take too long to dry and the control panel seems healthy.
When the door is first opened either at the end of a cycle or in the middle of one, there is a noticeable odor. It smells much like Kerosene.
The unit is probably 5-6 years old. So if it's the belt please let me know. But would also like to point out my oldest son frequently leaves items in his pockets. So far I extracted some 20+ pellets to his airgun and I wouldn't be surprised if I find a rubber fishing worm in there somewhere.
Can you get me started in the right direction?
Many thanks in advance.
Scott

Alrighty... I just removed the heating element (maybe called the coil). It had a bunch of dust. I cleaned it out using compressed air then reinstalled.
Re-ran the dryer and the burning smell is still there. Should add the smell is gone when we don't use the heater.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
