After filling with water the machine stops. There are no signs that anything is going to happen. No noise from the motor or the timer or anything else.

I read through some other threads but I am uncertain how to should proceed. The lid switch clicks so I assume that is still working. I removed the hose from the tub to the pump and that is not clogged. But I assume it is not a clog, since the machine stops before agitating.

One thread suggested checking the fuse for the motor, where is that located? Another thread suggested removing the belt from motor to pump, is that applicable here? Any suggestions on how to proceed. Thank you.

Fill up the washer. Open the control panel. Remove the wires from the water level (pressure) switch and check for continuity between the terminals "7" & "16". If there is no continuity, replace the water level switch.

I bought a little analog GB Instruments multimeter. I tested the continuity between 7 & 16. Using the setting of ohmx1k I got a reading 1.5 ohm on the meter. Does this mean the water level switch should be functioning? What other tests should I run? Thank you.

The correct reading should be very close to zero. Connect the wires from the 7 & 16 terminals together and see if the washer will work. If it will, replace the water level switch.

When I hook the 7 & 16 wires together the washer does nothing. The water level is presently at the "partial" level. When I hook the wires back up to the terminals and turn the water level switch to "full," the washer is able to continue filling with water.

Did you pull the timer knob out to start the washer?

When 7 & 16 are hooked together the washer does nothing at any point in the cycle. It won't even fill with water, which is the only part of the cycle that works when 7 & 16 are hooked to their terminals.

I tried testing the continuity of 7 & 16 again today and the needle doesn't budge off ∞.

Open the control panel and check the check switch (#5 on the diagram). It suppose to be continuity between the COM and NO terminals with the lid closed. You also can bypass the switch by connecting the Red and Black wires together.

The wiring diagram.

I get a reading of 2 on the multimeter for the test between COM and NO terminals. When I hook the black and red wires the washer functions in all cycles. I moved it through the cycles manually, I don't have time to observe it run through the entire cycle tonight.

So what do I need to replace? Or can I just leave the red and black hooked together? Do know why the continuity reading on 7 & 16 changed to ∞ after trying the machine with those wires hooked together? Will this create another problem? Thank you.

This switch is a safety device and can be bypassed for a very short time, for the test purpose only. It has to be replaced and it is absolutely inexpensive.

The infinity reading between the 7 & 16 terminals shows an empty washer. Bypassed wires could not damage it.

P.S. Make sure both switches in the lid latch assembly are properly engaged as a last step of the repair.
