When the washing machine agitates, all the lights on the circuit dims/pulses with each motion. Same happens when I plug the machine into a different fuse circuit, so I don't think I have an AC power issue. It sounds like the machine "loads up" with each agitation - sort of hard to discribe the sound, but as if the motor is stalling at each end of the agitation motion.

What should I be checking for?

Thanks in advance.

Update: the last load did not spin dry properly. The washer acted like it was in agitate mode when I was set for spin only. Unplugging the harness to the motor and replugging it in seems to have reset everything. It now functions normally.

Second question: what temp should the motor run at? I can hardly touch the metal plate. A chef's thermometer reads 160 F, but with conduction losses it's probably higher. Thoughts?
