I have a 22.9 cubic foot Maytag side by side Refridg Model # MSD2356AEA A few months ago the refridg started staying warm but the freezer stayed cold. I took the back panel off the freeze4r and found the evap coil was froze solid I defrosted it but it froze again within a short time. I then replaced the Adaptive control and it seemed to work fine for a while but now it is doing the same thing I just checked and the evap coil is froze ove again Should I replace the defrost assy. And Last but not least how do you make this thing go into the defrost cycle to ohm it. Thanks Tim

Remove the back wall of the freezer, now locate the defrost heater, and disconnect the plug, now take a continuity reading of the heater, if no continuity, replace heater, if you have continuity, replace the defrost thermostat. Model MSD2356AEA There is also a wiring diagram on this link to help you.

checked the defrost assembly 2.5 across circut replaced it. There is no defrost timer it has been replaced with the adaptive defrost. Is there a way to cycle the defrost like on some brands where you cycle the refridg light 5 times?
