My ice maker has had episodes of not making ice for several weeks. I would just put water into the compartment, and it would start back emptying and making more ice. I came home tonight after being out of town for two days and my husband tells me that the ice maker is not working again. When I look at it (feel for water in the ice tray), the water is so hot it almost burned my finger. The "element"? on the bottom of the ice maker (where the water is supposed to freeze) is very hot...so much so that I cannot touch it. Heat can be felt from a distance of two inches away. Nothing else in the freezer is hot -- everything is still frozen. The model number above is one I got directly off the ice maker. The fridge model number is on the back and I cannot pull it out to see it. Please help if you can. Thanks.
