I have a side by side refridgerator that barely reaches 40 degrees in the freezer. I have cleaned the condenser coils, checked to make sure that the condenser fan and compressor are running, checked the evaporator fan to make sure it was running, checked the evaporator coils and found it not frozen up, checked for resistance in the thermostat which appeared ok,and have finally today replaced the freezer control switch which appears is not changing the warm condition. What have I missed in my diagnostic procedure.

You probably have a bad compressor, just looked at two of them. You might want to get a pro to look at it. Most of the time the fridg. is not worth putting a new compressor in.
