HI I realize that this is not a new problem with the Whirlpool quiet partner III, but in all the posts I could not find a solution. I took the entire dishwasher apart yesterday and believe me at 8 months pregnant it was not a easy task.I cleaned all parts the chopper blade moved freely, put the thing back together and still the same problem not cleaning well on the bottom and the top arm is not spinning at all. Is my next step a new motor? or a new dishwasher ? I am not very happy with this $700 dishwasher that lasted 18 months anyone have suggestions.

A model number may help others help you.
Often this is the unit not getting enough water. A symptom of this is a growling sound as the motor sucks in air (cavitation). Most units fill to just under the heating element. You could check this by adding a couple quarts of hot water after each fill if it now runs oK then low water is probably your problem. Just be careful not to overfill he unit. The float shoud not deactivate the overfill switch.
If it is low water the likeliest culprit is the screen filter on the input side of the water valve. Remove the valve and clean/check the filter. Do not permanently remove the filter as it is there to keep crud out of the valve which could hold it open and cause a flood. |

I took the piece to the barn to see if I could use a vice to remove the brass fitting I removed one but the other not so lucky. will the plastic screen screw out ? It seems like its on a spring, not sure. thanks

What tool do i need to remove the 4 screws to access the screen? Looks like they are Torx so you need a Torx screwdriver set. Sorry I do not know the exact size of them. will the plastic screen screw out ? Am not sure on this, if it has a slot for a screwdriver ir may. Could not get a good enough view of it ia the parts. Usually the filter is built into the valve. When you remove the Torx screw the valve will slit into two parts to let you get to the filter. Be sure to mark the bracket and the valve halves so they get re-assembled in the same orientation. |
