Is food too cold? Refrigerators are designed to run until they are the proper temperature. They are not designed to run for a specific period of time. If its running too long and its too cold in the refrigerator section, then you have a thermostat issue not sensing correct temperatures.
If however, its not cold enough in the fridge, it could be a fan is not running, a door is not sealing well, a light is staying on, the fridge is in the hot garage, a weak compressor or leak of refrigerant or some other problem Id have to inspect to see.
