My dishwasher started making noise a few weeks ago and I just had a repairman diagnose a bad pump motor on my dishwasher and estimated $350 to $400 for replacement. It looks like I can buy the entire motor and pump assembly here for $157. Can anybody comment on the degree of difficulty I might encounter replacing this part myself. I'm not a mechanic or trained repairman, but I've had reasonable success repairing different items around the house. Should I give this a shot?

If the problem is a bad motor, you do not have to replace the whole pump & motor assembly. You can order and replace just the motor assembly which will cost you just $138.44. The complete instructions are attached to the reply.
