Washer stops at Rinse Cycle and doesn't drain water

I have a washer that has worked fine for 7 years up until last week. The cycle stops when it gets close to the rinse cycle and doesn't drain water. How can I tell if the hose is blocked or if it is the water pump?

Most likely the problem is a bad lid switch. For more accurate advise we need the complete model number of the washer.

The washer says Model 110 and the number is 22622100. Not sure if the 110 means anything. Thanks

110 prefix means your washer made by Whirlpool.
Open the control panel, unplug the lid switch harness plug and bypass it. Run the spin cycle and see if it works. Post your findings.

Sorry for this basic question, but where is the control panel.

Gene. Gene, thanks for this info. I suspect this is the problem with my Whirlpool washer also. The lid switch used to be at the top of the base where a protrusion on the lid would depress it to turn on the spin. I do not think the protrusion on the lid touches it when the lid is closed. It is now way down, and even when I manually press it, the washer does not spin. I would like to try this suggestion to unplug and bypass the lid switch harness plug, but how do I bypass it? I have viewed the instructions for removing the cabinet, etc.

the model number is LSQ8520JQ1. The last 2 digits of the model number are a guess. I could not quite read them. That is my best guess. I'd like to provide some additional information as my problem is similar to some of the postings, but may not be exactly the same. The washer stops at the end of the first wash, when it would drain the water and refill it for the second wash before the rinse. When I turn the timer to the next position where it would start the draining of the water, nothing happens. I tried other cycles on the washer, and it was the same. Could it also be that the timer has gone bad?

I have successfully removed the cabinet, and I am convinced that part of my problem is at least the lid switch. The protrusion on the lid does not touch the switch at all. With the lid closed, there is about a half inch of space between the protrusion on the lid and the switch itself. I will try bypassing the switch as soon as know how to to that.
