I think the wax motor in my lock mechanism is bad. ( I can open the door during the drain/final spin cycle after pulling the plug). Does anyone know if just the wax motor is available by itself ? Or do you have to purchas the whole lock assy ?

I don't think so, but call APP and see if they can help you.

Sorry, APP is AppliancePartsPros, the sponsor of this site. We who respond are volunteers and not associated with the Company so we cannot help you much on the parts side.
Click on your model number and you will be taken to exploded views of your machine, and the views are keyed to parts
If you buy a part from them and it does not fix the problem you can probably return it for a refund, see the returns policy or ask about it when you call them.
I expect that you will have to buy the whole lock assembly, but see what they say. That is probably ok, since it may not be the wax motor that is the problem anyway.
