The age of this washer is unknown to me I only know I love it. I got it about 1 year ago it was free, and it was making a very loud noise. It is very heavy and has a stainless steel tub. I have used it regularly and it has continued to make the same loud noise. I am just concerned that one day it will die and leave me washerless. The repair guy said if it was bearings it would not be worth the cost of repair. What I need is a second opinion. I would truly rather put $200 into repairing a washer I like as to buying a new piece of junk like those made today. So can someone tell me what this racket is that it makes and whether or not it would be worth the repair costs? The water goes in and out and it goes thru all 3 cycles. It doesn't travel across the floor or shake the house, it just make alot of noise. With a new baby in the house I can't go without a washer and I really like this one. Can anyone out there make suggestions or help in any way? Thanks

If it is bad bearings, go to web site www.applianceaid.com and check the long procedure to replace them. It is really difficult to me and requires purchase of special tools, not a job I would like to do.
