Can anyone tell me how to access the ice dispenser flapper on my GE Refrig? It wasn't sealing properly and while trying to reshape it, it came off its plastic base.
I tried to re-install it from the outside, thru the ice chute but there isn't enough finger room to do it.
Do I access it from the back of the door by removing the inner panel or do I access it from the outside by removing the dispenser cover? If from the outside, how do you remove the dispenser cover? There are no fasteners showing.
Thanks Ernie12

You go in from the front. The dispenser will prize apart from the dispenser housing. Then there are four screws that release the housing from the refrigerator door. Then you will be able to access the flap. Refrigerator repair guide

Don't want to break the dispenser housing on the outside of the refrigerator. Any suggestion on were to prize it? Doesn't appear to be any spot to stick a screw driver in to pop it off.

I typically will not use a screwdriver I just pull it right off. But sometimes it is a little stuck. There is a crack between the dispenser board and the housing just slip the screwdriver in the crack and gently prize the board off.

Wanted to let you know, your advice worked once I figured out that you were discribing removing just the plastic panel that make up the water and ice icons and not the whole framing around the ice dispenser opening on the exterior of the freezer door. Once I popped the plastic control panel off the face like you said the it was pretty easy.
Thanks again
