This may be a silly question but for the life of me, I am unable to get the agitator put back into place. I had replaced the worn coupling which resolved the initial problem that I was having. However, now I am unable to push the agitator down hard enough to lock it into place. It keeps popping up and off during wash. I did order a new agitator thinking that the new coupling may not be compatible with the old agitator but is there something that I am missing in getting it reattached?

Your not missing anything, put the agitator on, and put your hands down at the base of agitator, push slightly downward and turn until you feel where it fits and give it a hard push. You have to push pretty hard once you find the sweetspot

Thanks.. I do have an new agitator on order and think I will give that one a whirl. I did notice that the some of the plastic has been chewed away on the splines. I think that once I am actually able to get this part back in place.. it needs to stay there. I appreciate the info.
