The washing machine has been running very smooth. Only about 3 years old. All of a sudden it started to click which sounds almost like its turning on and off very fast. This happens during agitate cycle for the most part. At the same time it clicks, the lights in the house dim. Any ideas?

Does it sound like the one on this page YouTube - GE Washer Motor Making Loud Noise

If so you have a bad motor, switch cycles and see if it still does it. This happens when one of the windings in the motor opens up the motor will start then cut right back off then when the start switch goes back the motor can start again. If you change the cycle to make the motor run on a different speed it may work (depending on which winding is open)
