My washing machine has worked great until just last week. Now, it will start the spin cycle, spin for about 5 seconds, then the basket lurches sideways and stops spinning. I know it is not the belt, because we just replaced that today and the problem persists. Any suggestions would be most helpful! Thanks loads.

soccermom93 here again. I investigated our washer problem a bit more and it may not be just a spin problem. The washer will complete an entire cycle, but it will only agitate or spin for 5 to 7 seconds at a time; it will sit idle for about 3 minutes in between short agitations. Could this be a problem with the clutch or the timer??? Thanks!
