hello, i have an old JennAir gas cooktop. i am buying new parts and also need to repair/rebuild one knob control assembly (left rear) i can not determine from the blow up of the knob control how many parts i actually need to buy/replace. i can not push down on the knob or turn it. also i need to replace the 2 ignightors, same problem, unable to determine which parts are re-useable which need replaced. any help would be very appreciated. thanks, Cinderella2, just a girl trying to fix her range. that's my story and i am sticking to it.

Hi Cinderella2, Looks like you have to replace the left rear gas valve. I did not get why you need to replace the igniters. What is wrong there? In order to provide the right part number for the gas valve I need the serial number of the stove. I would recommend to read the service manual before you do anything. It will help you to figure out if you are able to handle such repairs. Here are the break down diagrams for the Jenn Air cooktop Model CG206BGene.

thanks, my serial number on my range is 966109BZ, natural gas that has had the orifice added to convert to propane. my ignightors are shot, they have corroded past the point of no return. i think the plate gives year of manufacture as 1983. i really am interested in having my parts assembled so that when an old uncle (former aircraft inspector) comes for his visit he can do the work. but i am not intimidated by these types of repairs...had the lawn mower apart today.:)

Hey Gene, Thanks for your informative reply...I have the same issue, only on mine the front left and right rear burner valves got frozen at the same time. My serial number is #805008BF, do you have any troubleshooting suggestions that may differ from your above prognosis? Thanks in advance Ian

I have a JennAir CG200B serial no 352264TR that I personally installed in 1984. I am experienced in repairing most appliances, but need the correct part number and instruction on how to replace the right rear burner gas controls as it is stuck in the off position. The left rear is is sticky, can it be serviced or does it need to be replaced too? Can you please tell me what parts I need and give me a link to the service manual for this model? thanks, Big Bob

Thanks very much for the info Gene. A little more info: Are the valves that you gave numbers for the REAR valves, and are they different than the front ones ? (I need rears) What is involved in removing the control console cover, does it pry off or are there fastners holding it? Thanks again, Big Bob

Can you give me a link to the service manual for this model that tells how to replace the valve so I don't attack the project the wrong way? Thanks again, Big Bob
