I purchased a used Jen-Air fridge. With the fridge on top and the pull out freezer on the bottom. About a month ago the Compressor failed and was blowing the home circuit breaker. The service tech replaced the compressor. The next day the fridge was not cooling. The service tech then charged the fridge with Freon. Or at least that's what I believe was done. Now I'm getting pools of water under the fridge. I pulled it out thinking that the water supply line my have been loosened, but that was not the case. The lines coming out of the right hand side of the condenser (Round canister about the size of a coffee can) have about a 1/4-inch of frost on them.

Would this be an indication of low Freon?
Could it be too much Freon?

The repair tech called me and said he thought it was an indication of high Freon, and his fix was to rap the tubing in insulation tape. This seems odd to me. If it needed this type of tape, wouldn't the manufacture have already done this? IT kind of sounds like a band-aid...

Any advice welcome.

Yes sounds like he did not use gauges and he overfilled the system.
