My GE psc23ngn is not cooling efficiently. Even though the freezer portion is set to 0 degrees, it is always around 24 degrees. The refrigerator is set to 32 degrees but it stays at around 41 degrees. What is the probable cause?

Thanks for your suggestion. I cleaned the condenser and the grill. It is cooling both the freezer and refrigerator sections very efficiently. It took almost 30 hours to maintain the set temperatures.
I appreciate your quick response.

I'm glad you were able to fix it with no cost to you. Keep it clean and, hopefully it would not give you more troubles.
Gene.

Gene, The problem re-appeared. The GE psc23ngn worked efficiently for 4 months after cleaning, as you suggested. Now, the freezer is not dropping below 24 degrees F while the refrigerator section is around 43 degrees F. I re-opened the rear cover and cleaned it again (though there is no dust). It worked for a couple of days and we are back to square one (24F and 43F in freezer and refrigerator sections). Please suggest troubleshooting steps and a solution.
Thanks Prakash

Prakash,
Does the fan next to the compressor work properly?
Can you see any frost on the rear panel in the freezer?

Gene, There is no frost on the rear side of the freezer section. The fan next to the compressor is running but it is running at slow rpm. I am not sure how speed it is supposed to run. Today morning the temperatures dropped to 17 in freezer and 37 in the refrigerator section. They gradually went up to 20 and 40 respectively, in the evening.
Thanks Prakash

Compressor is quite hot. All the pipes are also hot. I have a feeling that the fan is not running at full speed.

Looks like you are on the right track. The fan motor has to be replaced together with the main control board. So far I would recommend to use any floor fan to cool the compressor down or unplug the refrigerator until you fix it. - The condenser fan motor Part number: AP4265957
