I Have Checked Power And The Lid Switch Does Click. The Washer Does All Functions However It Does Not Spin Or Empty The Water. Any Suggestions?

Does the agitator move on the wash cycle?

Does the motor run on the drain/spin cycle?

Dear Gene,

Sorry to butt-in, but my washer - Kenmore Elite (bought new in 2002), top load, heavy duty, 3 speed power w/ 6 speed combination has the same problem. Once it's done it's first washing cycle (after 22 min of 45min wash) it stops when it kicks for the first rinse cycle. It won't spin, nor did the water will drains. Then the digital “OL” letters blinks in the timer/clock window. I tried to turn it off and on again, same thing happens.

Somebody told me, it must be the transmission is bust, and I read somewhere in this thread which has a similar problem, its something to do with a switch in the flap cover, etc.

Please give me your advise. Also, is this kind of problem and 6 years of usage, worth repairing with new parts or just buy a new one? Any idea how much is the repair and parts cost?
Thank you.

Roger,

"OL" error code means the lid switch is open.

In order to provide more accurate advise we need the complete model number of the washer.

Gene.
