Just bought a home with this older washing machine. It worked fine for a month, but now it will keep filling and filling. When I turn the machine off the water drains right out. No leaks anywhere. Doesn't happen on very light load just on a larger heavier load. May I assume that I will have to take the back of the washer off and check a level switch or something?
Thanks for any advice! Cheryl

Cheryl,
Does it overfill if you would not stop it?

No....it just keeps draining....now I just did a medium load and it went thru fine...appears to be when I switch to "large" load Originally Posted by: Gene Cheryl,

If the drain hose is too far down the drain pipe it will do what's called siphoning. basically the end of the hose is lower than the water level. Make sure the hose is not too far down the drain.
