I have an electric Kenmore stove Model# 790.91012300. The top burners work but the over doesn't.

About 3 years ago the display screen stopped working for a few days then started working again. It still currently is working. When i turn the knob for the over i have a click and the light comes on but no heat.

What should I check first?

Thanks

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for KENMORE 790.91012300 | AppliancePartsPros.com

Here is the wiring diagram

Since the oven light comes on it indicates that the thermostat contacts are closing.
Try Broil if that works odds are the bake element is toast.
Unplug the unit, remove the bake element and check it with a meter. They are usually around 20 ohms.

Be gentle when removing the element as you do not want to pull the wires off it.
Also it is a good idea to have a clip (a clothes pin works) to attach to the wires so that they do not disappear back into the unit.

Note: It is very important to remove power from the unit as one side of the element is always live.

Usually there is a screw on the plate at the back of the oven on the element that holds it in the oven.
You will not need instructions on how to install it as it is self evident.
