I just bought a new home and the power cord on the dish washer was cut off. Should I just splice a new cord onto the dishwasher because it looks and seems just that simple to me. Any thing I should be careful of?? Thanks

Hi,
Is this a brand new dishwasher?
Power cords do not come with new dishwasher.

the dishwasher is used. The previous owner removed the dishwasher from the wall to move it and it seems he just cut the cord from the wall. I looked under the dishwasher and found what I believe to be about 4 feet of power cord with no plug on the end, just a large open wire with 3 wires enclosed in the casing.

You will need to wire the new cord into the junction box that is under the dishwasher. The same box that cord that has been cut comes out of now.
