Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 5/31/2010(UTC) Posts: 2		I have a 6 year old GE Nautalis that fills with chunks of food. It seems to run & drain fine, leaving the sump full of water but completely emptying the tub (I believe this is normal). Larger chunks of food can be found in the bottom of the tub after the cycle & smaller bits are plastered onto items in the top rack. I always run the dishwasher with dishes rinsed, I'm not putting any large chunks of food into the dishwasher (or any food particles at all) yet the problem persists. Hopefully there is something clogged with food that I just need to clean out, but I'm not sure where to start.

The following is for a G00BB but it should be close to your unit. Replacement parts for General Electric GSD2200G00BB Dishwasher \| AppliancePartsPros.com The food has to be coming from somewhere and the only other source other than the dishes is the drain. Strange though that you do not see more water in the tub.Check to be sure the drain hose is properly looped up. Check for debris in the sump. Be careful as often there is broken glass in the sump. Also check the the chopper blade is OK and does not have a twist tie etc. wrapped around it and that turning it also turns the motors armature.

The chopper blade moves with a bit of resistance so I assume its turning a motor on the other side. Just to be clear the spray arm should remain staitonary when I turn the chopper blade, correct? Also, from what I can feel the chopper blade has a single arm that sweeps across a mesh screen, does that sound correct also? While the tub drains, the sump stays full of water. That seems a little odd to me, is the sump supposed to stay full 24/7? I'm going to remove the drain tube and see if it has any debris in it, is there anything between the sump and the drain tube that could be holding food debris for some reason?

Since this is becoming quite a mystery I would get a screwdriver and place it in the fins to lock the motor armature and then try to turn the chopper. Just to ensure that the chopper is not slipping on the armature. Do not overly force it. Also a turkey baster works great to get the water out of the sump. [COLOR="Blue"]While the tub drains, the sump stays full of water. So always add a couple quarts of water to it if you have emptied the sump. I think the drain hose is connected directly to the pump on these units but I would check it.
