The washer has been working well for several years, recently it won't spin all the water out of the bottom below the tub level. The clothes are spun pretty dry but it sounds like there's a gallon or so left. Since I travel a lot, I'm afraid of it turning sour in there and causing other problems. What's up with this?

It’s possible that there could be a restriction someplace
(possibly something caught in the electric pump itself).

You could try and fill the washer with water then put the
drain hose where you can actually see the water drain,
a wash tub or sink (if you have one beside the washer)
or a large bucket, then allow it to drain does it look like
the water is coming out at a pretty good rate? Or is it
coming out slowly?

Having said this: Keep in mind that it is normal for
some water to remain in the washer after it drains.

Thanks, both of you guys. The washer is probably at least 5 years old (I'm not sure how to tell by the codes) but, I'm wondering if they were that "green" back in '02 or so?

Best guess I'd say that between 1 and 2 gallons are left in after each wash. I used to spin the tub to get at the remaining clothes and never heard any water, let alone 1-2 gallons......

John

PS Thanks again for the swift replies...... I'm not used to people actually getting back to me!

Pull off the lower front panel, remove the hoses to the pump and clean it out.
