My Whirlpool ice maker has quit making ice. I get either a double red blinking LED or a solid red LED on the inside wall IR detector depending on the position of the window door which is spring loaded on the outside wall. Blinking when the sight path is blocked. Solid red when I push the window tight to the wall.

I am looking for some suggestions and especially a source of help for how to disassemble the maker as I progress through the troubleshooting. (Somewhere between remove the icemaker and turn the screw counterclockwise to remove.)

There was no change in the LED light pattern when I powered down and up.

There may have been a tray of food which pressed against the back of the icemaker a week ago when it quit but I did not think that anything was jammed in tight and can not be sure of the timing or if this item is relevent.

Thank you.

I think you need a new ice maker.
