When dispensing ice at the door, when the cup is removed the dispensor door shuts and the light goes out but the ice maker continues to run and fills the chute and makes a mess

Mike,

Most likely the problem is a bad dispenser PC board. If you need the correct part number, post the serial number of the refrigerator.
