Hi , my washer won't fill with water with power on, door closed on any setting. I'm not very handy, can anyone help me with the likely cause of my problem? what parts I need ? where to buy parts? and how to fix ?
Thanks

If you're not very good with troubleshooting, you can still save money on the service call, if you have a friend, family member, or neighbor who can help. You need to determine if the problem is in the timer, the water valve, or elsewhere. First, make sure you're getting water to the valve. You can do this by turning the water off, detatching the hose from the washer, and then turning the water back on as you hold a bucket or similar container under the end of the hose. If you get a good flow of water through the hose, reattach it to the washer. Do this for both the hot and cold. Keep us informed, and we'll be able to narrow your problem down to a money-saving solution.

Ok, thanks i will try that. Also, i can tell you that yesterday was when i first noticed the issue. i turned on the washer, closed the lid, but the water didn't start...so i opened the lid ever so slightly, and then the water started flowing as long as i held the lid up ever so slightly. Then , after the wash, I tried the washer again , turned it on, closed the door, & the water started running , so, i figured there really wasn't a problem. But then I opened the door to put in some detergent, closed the door again....but the water wouldn't start back even if i held the door open ever so slightly. Does that give you any more insight into the problem?

Ok, we did what you said, we're getting both hot and cold water to the valve, so that's not the issue. What do you suggest next ?
Thanks!

From your second description, it sounds like you need to replace the check switch in the lid switch assembly. This can be tricky. they're difficult to get adjusted correctly. May be a job for a pro.
