My dryer was in storage for about a year and when i press the start button it sometimes just makes a buzzer/humming sound(sometimes associated with a wif of a burning smell). I would lift the top and hand spin the drum while pressing the start button and it would begin working. Lately it runs only breifly and it emits a humming noise which gets progressively louder until it shuts off! Once it shuts off it won't restart until it cools off again but the does the same. I noticed the drum seams to spin counterclockwise much easier than clockwise(normal operating direction). Any Ideas?

Take the dryer apart. Clean the lint and lubricate all moving parts (the front & rear rollers and idler pulley). Check how freely the motor shaft is moving. If there is a lot of tension, you can try to lubricate the motor bearings using a car engine oil (SAE 10-30). If it would not help, replace the motor. All tear down instructions are in the Service manual. - The drum support rollers (pack of 2) Part number: AP3098345

Please, open a new thread in the washer repairs forum and post the complete model number of the washer.
