I just bought a upright freezer frigidaire that is 20 years old but was stored and never used. It works great but the side of the freezer is warm to the touch but only the top half when the compressor is on. When the compressor goes off the whole side is cool. Is this normal. Also a freezer this old what is normal for the compressor to go on and off, it seems to stay on for several hours and then go off for about 20-30 minutes.

I would consider it as normal due to its age and being not used for such long time.

Gene.
