I have the whirlpool gst9679pw1 washer.

The lid switch is not engaging properly.

I opened the top panel, and observed that the lid switch is loose. It does not seem to be connected to the top of the case. Because of this, the finger from the lid does not properly engage the switch when the lid is closed.

So, the question is: How does the lid switch stay in its proper position. It does not seem to be screwed in place, and i cannot see any clamp for it.

The lid switch is item 11 on the parts diagram for this washer.

Thanks so much for any help. bhf930@gmail.com:cool:
