Posted before, initial problem resolved by a tech replacing the compressor and other parts. Now the fridge has another problem.

The fan seems to cycle on and of for a few seconds, but for a long time before the fan actually kicks on. The temp in the fridge and the freezer is fine, just that I am sure this is a problem and it is very annoying. It goes on for hours, day and night.

The repair tech said it is the fan motor inside the fridge, not in the lower back of the fridge.

Not sure of the replacement part price because I can not locate the part on the parts list and I am not sure if this is the actual part that is bad. I thought maybe there was a thermostat switch or something that may cause this, but the tech says that these fridges do not have this part and it has to be this fan motor.

It does this every few hours and does it for hours at a time. Just cycles on for a few seconds, then off for a few seconds. Then after awhile, it seems the cycle on gets longer and longer, then the fans finally kick on fully. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would prefer to find out the problem and replace the part myself as the last repair was almost $600.00 and although the fridge cools fine, it is very annoying to listen to this noise day and night.

Thanks,
Joe

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for FRIGIDAIRE PLHS269ZCB3 Frigidaire/refrigerator | AppliancePartsPros.com

Here is the tech sheet

First I would confirm which fan is the problem.

Not sure of the replacement part price because I can not locate the part on the parts list and I am not sure if this is the actual part that is bad.
Is it the condenser fan (back bottom of unit by the compressor) Item 60 in Section 6?
Is it the evaporator fan (inside the freezer section) Item 13 in Section 5?

I thought maybe there was a thermostat switch or something that may cause this, but the tech says that these fridges do not have this part and it has to be this fan motor.
Could be just a terminology problem but the unit does have a thermostat, see FREEZER CONTROL on the wiring diagram.
This of course assumes that I have the correct tech sheet.

Once you figure out which fan is causing the problem you could just replace it.
Would not be a bad idea to monitor the voltage going to the fan when it does this.
If the voltage remains at 120 voltsa and it is shutting off/on then you know for sure that the fan is toast.
If the voltage is turning off/on then you know it is the device that controls the fan and you will have to do more troubleshooting.

Are you able to supply the part numbers for the fan motor and the circuit board that controls the fan relating to this problem? I tried to find the parts via this site but could not. Thanks.

Hi. Thanks for your response. I ordered and received the fan and the control unit as you showed in the diagram. I have removed the inside back panel of the freezer where these parts are supposed to be. I can see the fan but I do not see the control unit anywhere. I have everything removed as far as back panels and there is no control unit that I can see. Only a plug into the back of the freezer where the fan connects. So does this mean the control unit is in the back of the fridge cabinet? I have looked at the back of the fridge and it seems this is all sealed and I can not get into it. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Found the location of the parts. I have ordered and received the fan and the control module. Replaced the control module as the fan checked out ok. Hours to do this and still the same problem. The freezer fan goes on and off for hours before it seems to get enough power to run at full power. When I had the ice maker detached the same thing happened. I will have to take all apart again and send back the parts, but what could be the problem now? Just had the comresssor replaced at 560.00. Trying to understand what the heck is going on with this fridge. What else could cause the fan to go on/off all day long? The freezer and the fridge cool fine, but the fan in the freezer cycles on and off for hours at a time, like it doesn't have enough power to start, after hours it finally does start. Thanks in advance. Joe.

I would monitor the fan voltage with a meter.
If it is getting 120 volts and not running then the fan is the problem.
