Oven Igniter Stays Glowing,also Must Tap On Burner To Get Lit. But Igniter Stays On. Any Advise Would Be Appreciated.

The oven igniter stays "on" as long as the flame needed to stay "on".

If you have to tap on the burner to let the gas out then it could be a bad igniter or a bad gas safety valve.

You have to measure the current drawn by the igniter to find out exactly which part is bad.

If it's less than 3.2 amps - replace the igniter.

If it's more then 3.2 amps - replace the gas safety valve.

- The part number for the oven igniter is AP205873

- The part number for the gas safety valve is AP374297
