You might have a bad damper, or just the door jamed shut. I would pull it apart to check. You can disconnect the damper door motor and jam the door open half way, will work untill you can replace the damper assembly. I have customers who just run the fridg this way without replacing the damper.

I bought a new Damper control last week from this site and replaced it, that was the suggestion of the tech who came to fix the unit at the first place, he replaced the motherboard twice and since the issue was not resolved he said that it is the damper control, so this time I bought the dapmer from you guys and replaced it myself. If I leave the frig door open for a while I can see that the damper door automatically opens and blows cool air to frig. So I am not sure if this is a sign of good damper or not.
before I change the damper, what I did for day or so was that I used a tooth pick and left the dapmer door open all the way and all the time, but what happen was that the stuff in the freezer starts melting so I took the tooth pick away and closed the dapmer.
Do you think I should ask for replacement damper or since the one I have the door opens and closes automatically is OK?
I am open to any suggestion at the moment!!!
Thanks for your help.
Shawn

As I suggested, use a wad of duck tape to jam the damper door open half way. This will prevent your refrigerator getting too cold. You must unplug the damper motor to do this.

I did use a wad of duck tape to jam the damper door open little less than half way, it worked for almost two month and the ref temp was between 30-40 degree, but again the ref. side started to warm up again.right now there is no air flowing from the damper door even though the door is open half way.I am not sure why there is no air flow from thr frig side to ref. side ? the air temp inside the ref. is between 50-60 degree. Do you know what cause this to happen?
The freig side works fine , no problem there.
Thanks for your help.

Your evaporator coils are probably frozen, very common for the defrost heater to fail on these.

Pull off the back freezer panel, if frozen coils, use a hair dryer on them, then check the heater for a broken element.

Thanks. I will take a look at it tonight , the strange thing is that I left the ref. alone all night long ( not oppenning the door) and this morning the temp. inside the ref. was 40 degree and there was a flow of air from fre. to ref. from the damper control door which I have left it open almose half way. The same thing happen two weeks ago too and later on it started working again. what it worries me that I am not sure when it will work and when it won't so that I can not leave some stuff in the ref. like milk.
The heater is next to the coil right? what is the item # for it so I can take a look at it and I will have an idea how it looks like.
Thanks again.
Shawn

Check your frost pattern on the coils, if there is partial defrost, you might have an out of tolerance evaporator thermister, just check.
